MOZAÎK - Série de soirées métissées
29 JANVIER ; HENDRY MASSAMBA | MOBEMBO
MOBEMBO, which means “journey” in Lingala, is a musical crossing through time, rhythms, and the traditional melodies of Congo. Hendry Massamba tells the story of a people, their roots, and their exile, where the deportation of enslaved Africans gave rise to a vibrant métissage, blending pain, resistance, and rebirth. On stage, ancestral drums converse with the guitar, the soulful voice intertwines with blues and jazz, creating an organic fusion between the African land and the breath of the world. Between poetry, festive energy, and conscious reflection, MOBEMBO carries the audience into an inner voyage, where memory becomes music and music becomes memory. It is a cry of love for Congo, a tribute to those who still walk, sing, and dream despite wounds and massacres. A show for all audiences, lovers of world music, and young curious souls in search of authenticity and vibration.

30 AVRIL ; MIKHA.ELLES | CAMINO DE MUJERES
Camino de mujeres, or Women’s Path, is a performance that immerses listeners in the blended musical universe of Mikhaëlle Salazar and her group Mikha.elles, created in 2020. Four unique voices — those of Marie-Neiges Harvey, Carmelle Gauvin, Judith Little-Daudelin, and Mikhaëlle herself — converge into a single vocal expression, exploring a repertoire of Latin rhythms sung in Spanish and French. They are accompanied on percussion by the talented Lara Klaus.
Mikhaëlle’s mixed heritage, born to a Québécoise mother and a Chilean father, serves as a source of inspiration for the themes explored throughout this show, which is drawn from the album of the same name released in November 2023. The album earned a nomination at ADISQ (2024) and at the Prix Opus (2025) in the category World Music Album of the Year. The group was also nominated at the Canadian Folk Music Awards in the Vocal Group of the Year category (2025).

28 MAI ; ABDEL GROOZ | DIWANE
With Diwane, Abdel Grooz — bassist, singer, composer, and producer — offers a musical creation deeply rooted in the traditions of the Maghreb and the Sahel, yet boldly oriented toward the present. In certain regions of Algeria, Diwane is a synonym for Gnaoua: a music of trance, memory, and spirituality, transmitted orally through generations. It is this very memory that Abdel Grooz explores and reinvents, infusing it with fresh energy and a contemporary aesthetic.
On stage, he blends the ancestral rhythms of the desert with the harmonic colors of jazz, the groove of modern music, and the power of traditional chants. And to bring this vision to life, he surrounds himself with an exceptional team: the very best of Montréal’s musicians, collaborators in crafting an organic, free, and vibrant sound. Diwane then becomes a space of celebration — somewhere between spiritual trance and popular festivity. A meeting point between African roots and modern impulses. A sonic journey inspired by the landscapes of southwestern Algeria, a land of métissage and living culture. With this project, Abdel Grooz presents a generous, soulful, and profoundly universal performance.
